December 5, 2007 —Twenty-eight athletes competed in the Area 4 Special Olympics Bowling Tournament, held Nov. 30-Dec. 1 at the Copperfield Bowling Center. The CFISD athletes won 10 gold medals, six silver medals, five bronze medals and seven ribbons.

The following student athletes won medals and ribbons:

Gold medals

• Jessica Cranford , Chandler Shulthiess and Brynn Upchurch, Cypress Creek HS; Alexander Sizemore, Langham Creek High School; Derek Hanham, Campbell Middle School; Lauren Perry, Goodson Middle School; Samaan Karadsheh and Foster Thompson, Spillane MS; Jasmine Guillory, Holmsley Elementary School; and Caitlin Ripley, Matzke Elementary School.

Silver medals

• Christian Cuevas , Cy-Fair High School; Tyler Cravens, Joshua Henke and Michael Seversen, Cypress Creek HS; Kristina Richey, Cypress Springs High School; and Grant Yetter, Jersey Village High School.

Bronze medals

• Jonathan James , Cypress Springs HS; Julian Crawford, Aragon Middle School; Nicole Kendrick, Bleyl Middle School; Jill Philipbar, Truitt Middle School; and Marwan Hariri, Watkins Middle School.

Ribbons

• Michael Dore , Bobby Verdiguel and Coby White, Cypress Falls High School; Vaughn Anderson and Zachary Hatcher, Cypress Ridge High School; Kyle Klumpyan, Cypress Woods High School; and Nathan Pustka, Dean Middle School.
