January 22, 2008 — Kathleen Dickson, the current principal at Hancock Elementary School, was named the new principal for M. Robinson Elementary School effective March 17. M. Robinson Elementary School (No. 49) will open in August 2008.

Dickson’s new assignment was announced during Tuesday’s regularly scheduled Board meeting.

She has 27 years of experience in CFISD. She was a teacher at Lieder, Lowery and Wilson elementary schools from 1981-1986. She then served as an assistant principal at Adam Elementary School from 1986-2002 before taking over as Hancock principal in 2002.

Dickson holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Houston and a Masters of Administration and Supervision from Prairie View A&M University. She also has Mid-Management Certification from Prairie View A&M.

“I am excited and honored to open Marie Robinson Elementary,” Dickson said. “Working together with students, parents and staff members, we can build a community of excellence. I look forward to the 2008-2009 school year to begin our journey.”
