January 30, 2008 —Langham Creek High School swimmer Stephanie Rovig was selected as Athlete of the Week by the Ch. 55 program High School Sports Live, and will be featured on the show on Feb. 2 and 3 at 6 p.m. and Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. on The Tube (Ch. 55 on Comcast Cable).

Rovig, a senior, is a five-time high school All-American and a USA Swimming Academic All-American, and is an LCHS record-holder in three individual events and three relay events. She was named to the All-State team in 2006 and 2007 and was the 2007 regional champion in two individual events and two relays. She won the bronze medal in the 2007 state meet in the 200 freestyle.

Rovig has accepted an athletic scholarship from the University of Missouri, where she plans to major in journalism in the fall.  

The Langham Creek HS swim team will host the District Swim Meet on Friday, Feb. 1 at 4 p.m. at Cypress Springs High School (7909 Fry Road).
