February 14, 2008 — The Cy-Fair High School girls basketball team advanced to the area round of the Class 5A Region III playoffs with a 79-51 victory over Alief Taylor on Tuesday night in the bi-district round.
Cy-Fair is now 32-2 overall and will face Houston Madison tonight, Feb. 14 at the Aldine ISD Campbell Center ( 1865 Aldine Bender Road) at 7 p.m.
In other girls basketball playoff action, Langham Creek High School finished its season as a bi-district qualifier following a 46-35 defeat to Alief Hastings. Langham Creek finished with a 24-9 overall record and was the runner-up in District 17-5A.
Cypress Falls High School ended its season as a bi-district qualifier with a 58-33 loss to Alief Elsik on Tuesday. The Lady Eagles finished with a 19-14 record and finished third in district.
Cypress Springs High School also finished as a bi-district qualifier after falling to Katy Cinco Ranch, 60-50, on Tuesday. The Lady Panthers wrapped their season with a 24-9 record and finished fourth in district play.
