February 19, 2008 — Three CFISD boys basketball teams have advanced to the bi-district round of the Class 5A Region III playoffs, which begin tonight.

Cypress Springs High School (29-6 overall, 12-4 in district) was the 17-5A runner-up behind district champion Strake Jesuit. The Panthers will face Morton Ranch at the Merrell Center (6301 S. Stadium Lane) in Katy at 7 p.m.

Cypress Ridge High School (16-14 overall, 11-5 in district) finished in third place. The Rams will play Alief Taylor at Cinco Ranch High School (23440 Cinco Ranch Blvd.) in Katy at 6 p.m.

Langham Creek High School (15-18 overall, 8-8 in district) placed fourth in 17-5A. The Lobos will meet Alief Hastings at Cinco Ranch High School following the Cypress Ridge vs. Alief Taylor game.
