February 20, 2008 — Jodi Matteson, an assistant principal at Lee Elementary School, was named the new principal at Millsap Elementary School for the 2008-2009 school year. Matteson replaces Rhonda Frewin, who will open Hemmenway Elementary School in the fall.

Matteson has 17 years of CFISD teaching experience in second, fourth and fifth grades at Lowery and Fiest elementary schools, as well as three years as an academic achievement specialist at Aragon Middle School. From 2004-2005 she was an assistant principal at Moore Elementary School before assuming her current role at Lee.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Texas and a Master of Education in Administration from Sam Houston State University.

“It is truly an honor to have the privilege to serve the Millsap students, staff and community,” Matteson said. “Millsap has a history of excellence, and I look forward to being a part of their continued success.”
