February 21, 2008 —The Cypress Springs High School boys basketball team defeated Morton Ranch 72-56 in the bi-district round of the 5A Region III playoffs on Tuesday night in Katy.

The Panthers improved to 30-6 on the season and will square off with Bellaire in the area round. The game will be played at 7 p.m. tonight, Feb. 21, at the Delmar Fieldhouse (2020 Mangum Road). Tickets are $3 per person.

Two other CFISD teams wrapped up their respective seasons on Tuesday.

Cypress Ridge High School ended the year with a 16-15 overall record following an 83-66 bi-district loss to Alief Taylor. The Rams were the third-place finishers in District 17-5A with an 11-5 mark.

Langham Creek High School finished out with a 15-19 record following a 63-58 bi-district defeat to Alief Hastings. The Lobos were the fourth-place district finishers with an 8-8 mark.
