February 25, 2008 — For the second consecutive year, Cypress Falls High School senior Neil Caskey won two gold medals at the UIL Swimming and Diving State Championships, held last weekend at the Jamail Swimming Center in Austin.
Caskey won gold in the 100 butterfly with a time of 48.97, and also won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:37.39. Last year he won gold in the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly.
"Neil's success is the result of hard work and dedication that he puts into his swimming," said Tina Hughes, Cypress Falls swim coach. " I am so proud of everything that he has accomplished here at Cy Falls, and I look forward to watching his success grow as a swimmer at the University of Texas."
