March 11, 2008 —CFISD Special Olympics athletes earned medals and ribbons at the Area 4 Special Olympics Basketball competition hosted by various CFISD campuses.

The CFISD Tigers-1 3-on-3 team, coached by Raul Valdez, won a silver medal. Team members are Carson Berg, Arnold Middle School; Jacob Dean, Thornton Middle School; and Caitlyn Ripley, Matzke Elementary School.

The CFISD Wildcats, coached by Alicia Chavez, won a bronze medal. Team members are Sean Brashier-Davis , Cypress Ridge High School; David Chavarria, Cypress Ridge; Christian Cuevas, Cy-Fair High School; Jasmine Guillory, Holmsley Elementary School; Jonathan James, Cypress Springs High School; Lauren Perry, Goodson Middle School; Jill Philipbar, Truitt Middle School; Luis “Bobby” Verdiguel, Cypress Falls High School; and Coby White, Cypress Falls.

Additional winners include the CFISD Hot Shots, coached by Tim White, won an honorable mention ribbon. Team members are Joshua “Ryan” Bradford , Cypress Falls; Michael Dore, Cypress Falls; Robert Dunn, Cypress Falls; Levi Flick, Labay Middle School; Ethan Hart, Cy-Fair; Michael Mosely, Jersey Village High School; Gabriel Santiago, Cypress Springs; Alex Sizemore, Langham Creek High School; and Darrion Wilburn, Langham Creek.

Also, the CFISD Tigers-2 3-on-3 team, coached by Marlon Preston, won an honorable mention ribbon. Team members are Vaughn Anderson, Cypress Ridge; Ya-Sin Bennet, Lamkin Elementary School; Tamara Hagan, Cook Middle School; and Taylor Rhule, Holmsley.
