March 11, 2008 —Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, in partnership with other Houston-area school districts, will participate in “Take Our Child to Work Day” on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, rather than the national set date of April 24. Because of the district’s agreement to participate in this manner, students will not be excused from school next month to participate in the national “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day.”

By scheduling this activity in June, it will not interfere with a regular instructional school day. It also provides local businesses with the freedom to determine the appropriate level of participation for business owners and their employees’ children.

The set date will not conflict with CFISD’s summer school dates, which begin on June 11 for elementary, middle and high schools.
