March 26, 2008 —The Cypress Woods High School girls soccer team advanced in the Class 5A Region III playoffs after winning its bi-district round game on Tuesday.
Cypress Woods beat Morton Ranch, 5-1 on Tuesday. The Wildcats will face Lamar in the area round at Delmar Stadium (2020 Mangum Road) on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Cypress Creek concluded its year as bi-district finalists following a 2-0 loss to Katy. The Cougars were also runners-up in District 17-5A play.
Cy-Fair finished its season as bi-district finalists after falling to Katy Taylor, 2-1. The Bobcats were also third-place finishers in district.
Langham Creek wrapped up its season as a bi-district finalist after Cinco Ranch defeated the Lobos, 4-0. Langham Creek was the fourth-place district finisher.
In the boys’ playoffs, three CFISD teams ended their seasons as bi-district finalists following Tuesday losses.
Langham Creek and Mayde Creek played to a 0-0 tie through two overtimes before Mayde Creek prevailed in the shootout, 2-0. The Lobos finished their season as District 17-5A runners-up.
Jersey Village fell to Elsik, 4-1. The Falcons wrapped up their season as the third-place team in 17-5A.
Cypress Woods fell to Cinco Ranch, 1-0, and was also fourth place in district play.
