April 1, 2008 — Susan Brenz, an assistant principal at Yeager Elementary School, was named the new principal at Yeager for the 2008-2009 school year. Brenz replaces Sharon Barnes, who will retire this June.

Brenz has 11 years of experience in CFISD. During this time, she has been a fifth-grade teacher at Holmsley Elementary School and a sixth-grade teacher at Aragon Middle School. Brenz has also served as English department chair and chair of the academic standards committee at Aragon. She served on the district’s curriculum writing team for both elementary and middle school levels. From 2003-2004 she was an assistant principal at Jowell Elementary School. In 2004-2007 she served as assistant principal at Keith Elementary School before assuming her current role at Yeager for the 2007-2008 school year.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas A&M University and a Master in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston.

“I am looking forward to continuing the traditions established by the administration, staff, students and parents at Yeager Elementary. It is truly an honor to be part of this community,” Brenz said. “Yeager has a history of high achievement, and I look forward to being a part of their continued success.”
