April 4, 2008 — Kim Freed, an assistant principal at Matzke Elementary School, was named the new principal at Postma Elementary School for the 2008-2009 school year. Freed replaces Debbie Jackson, who will retire this June.

Freed has 24 years of experience teaching, all in CFISD. She taught for five years at Lowery Elementary School and 11 more years at Hancock Elementary School. She then served for one year as the instructional specialist at Matzke before assuming the assistant principal position, which she has held for seven years.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University and a Master of Education from Prairie View A&M University. "It is indeed an honor and privilege to join the Postma team," Freed said.

"I look forward to partnering with the staff, parents and the community in appreciating, celebrating and supporting our Pumas as they experience life and academic success."
