April 29, 2008 —Four CFISD baseball teams wrapped up their District 17-5A schedules last week and will begin their Region III bi-district playoff series this week.

Cy-Fair High School (20-7 overall, 13-3 in district) won the district championship, followed by runner-up Langham Creek High School (22-6, 12-4), third place Cypress Creek High School (16-11, 10-6) and fourth place Cypress Woods High School (18-10, 9-7).

CFISD’s bi-district playoff pairings are as follows:

• Cy-Fair will face Mayde Creek in a one-game playoff at 4 p.m. on Friday at Mayde Creek High School ( 19202 Groschke Road ).
• Langham Creek will meet Cinco Ranch in a best-of-three series, beginning with Game 1 at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Langham Creek HS (17610 FM 529). Game 2 is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday at Cinco Ranch High School ( 23440 Cinco Ranch Blvd. ) in Katy, while Game 3, if necessary, will start 30 minutes after Game 2.
• Cypress Creek will clash with Katy Taylor in a best-of-three series. Game 1 will be played at 7 p.m. on Friday at Cypress Creek HS ( 9815 Grant Road ), Game 2 is set for 11 a.m. on Saturday at Katy Taylor High School ( 20700 Kingsland Blvd. ) and Game 3, if necessary, will start 30 minutes after Game 2.
• Cypress Woods will face Katy in a best-of-three series, beginning with Game 1 at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Cypress Woods HS (16825 Spring Cypress Road). Game 2 is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday at Katy High School (6331 Highway Blvd.), while an if-necessary Game 3 will start 30 minutes following Game 2.
