May 12, 2008 — The district’s baseball and softball teams wrapped up their seasons in the playoffs over the weekend.

In the area round of the baseball playoffs, Cy-Fair High School was eliminated in three games by Westside, 1-0, 0-8 and 3-1. The Bobcats ended up with a 22-9 season record as the District 17-5A champions and area finalists.

Langham Creek High School fell to Lamar in two games, 8-7 and 22-21. The Lobos (24-9) finished as district runners-up and area finalists.

Cypress Creek High School lost in three games to Memorial, 5-3, 0-10 and 13-3. The Cougars (19-13) were third-place finishers in district and area finalists.

In the regional quarterfinal round of the softball playoffs, Bellaire defeated Cy-Fair in two games, 6-4 and 6-5. Cy-Fair finished its season as the third place finisher in 17-5A and regional quarterfinalists.
