June 19, 2008 — The Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Food Service Department received an award for breakfast participation increases during the Texas Association for School Nutrition (TASN) Conference, held June 8-11 in Corpus Christi.
The department increased daily breakfast participation by more than 10 percent during the 2007-2008 school year—from 16,200 in 2007 to 20,500 in 2008. That increase equated to an additional 750,000 breakfasts served throughout the year.
“I am very proud to accept the award for increased breakfast participation on behalf of the food service department ,” said Matt Morgan, Food Service director. “ The ladies and gentlemen who serve our children do a tremendous job and deserve to be recognized for their efforts.”
