June 26, 2008 — The Board of Trustees voted at a special-called meeting to make Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 a student holiday on the 2008-2009 district calendar. Nov. 4 will serve as a Trustee Election, which will be held in conjunction with the Harris County General Election.

Many CFISD schools are designated as polling sites, increasing the number of campus visitors and the need for parking spaces. The Board decided that amending the 2008-2009 calendar with a student holiday was in the best interest of both CFISD students and the public.

Like other professional development days, students will be exempt from school on Nov. 4. The other scheduled professional days for 2008-2009 are Aug. 18-22, Oct. 13, Jan. 5, Feb. 16, April 13 and June 4.
