August 19, 2008 —Cy-Fair High School alum Jonathan Horton won a silver medal in the final of the Men’s Horizontal Bar competition at the Summer Olympics in Beijing on Tuesday.

Horton, 22, took silver in his last event with a total score of 16.175—narrowly missing the 16.200 points registered by gold medalist Zou Kai of China.

Horton will return to Houston with two medals, following the bronze medal he helped Team USA win in the men’s team final on Aug. 12.
