September 25, 2008 —Three CFISD baseball and softball players were named to the Texas Sports Writers Association/Collin Street Bakery Class 5A All-State teams over the summer.

Cypress Creek High School sophomore outfielder Brandi Virgil was named to the Softball first team.

Cy-Fair High School pitcher Tommy Collier was named to the Baseball second team, while Langham Creek High School designated hitter Austin Freitas was named to the Baseball third team.
