October 23, 2008 — Eleven CFISD athletes were named to the Texas High School Water Polo Coaches Association (THSWPCA) Boys and Girls North Region teams following the North Region tournament, Oct. 17-18.

In the girls’ tournament, Cypress Creek and Langham Creek high schools finished second and third behind first-place Baytown Sterling. In the boys’ tournament, Cypress Creek and Cy-Fair high schools finished third and fourth, respectively, behind Baytown Sterling and Tomball.

 Girls First Team All-Region selections are Elyssa Salcido, Cypress Creek; Erin Dickson, Langham Creek; Jennie Heinze, Cy-Fair; and Carmen Cloves, Cypress Creek. Brittany Miller of Langham Creek is a Second Team pick.

Boys First Team All-Region selections are Jackson Gould, Cypress Creek; Eric Doyle, Cy-Fair; Nathan Bean, Cypress Creek; and Andrew Keily, Langham Creek. Second Team picks are Andrew McGhee of Cypress Springs and Brandt Curtin of Cypress Creek.

Cypress Creek will act as host for the THSWPCA State Tournament, to be held in Austin, Oct. 31-Nov 1. Participating CFISD schools are Cypress Creek, Cy-Fair, Cypress Springs and Langham Creek. CFISD employees will be admitted for half-price when showing an employee ID badge.
