Academic achievers win Jonas Brothers tickets

March 4, 2009 — Two high-performing CFISD elementary school students won free tickets from Reliant Energy to see the March 8 Jonas Brothers concert at Reliant Stadium during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Lamkin Elementary School fifth-grade student Caroline Heinze won four free tickets and Owens Elementary School fifth-grade student Yajaira Andaya won two free tickets to the sold-out show.

Teachers and principals from Houston-area school districts nominated approximately 800 students for the tickets, and only 26 were selected.

Reliant Energy chose the winners based on academic achievement, improved academic performance and outstanding citizenship. Reliant is the largest supporter of the Rodeo’s youth education programs.
