Volleyball teams begin playoff competition

October 29, 2009 — Cypress-Fairbanks ISD volleyball teams have completed regular season play and will kick off Region II-5A Bi-District playoff competition next week.

Cypress Woods won the district championship, Cy-Fair was the runner-up, Cypress Falls placed third and Cypress Creek and Jersey Village finished in a fourth-place tie.

To determine the fourth playoff spot, Cypress Creek and Jersey Village will meet in a one-game playoff game at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30 at Cypress Creek High School (9815 Grant Road).

Bi-district games are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3 as follows:

• Cy-Fair vs. Leander, Brenham High School, 6 p.m.;

• Cypress Woods vs. Cedar Park, Brenham High School, 7:30 p.m.;

• Cypress Falls vs. Georgetown, Cypress Falls High School, 6:30 p.m.; and

• Cypress Creek/Jersey Village vs. Westwood, A&M Consolidated High School, 7 p.m.
