Middle school teams win district cross country meet

November 2, 2009 — Cross country teams from three CFISD middle schools won their respective races in the District 15-5A Middle School Meet on Thursday, Oct. 29.
Each competing against 16 teams, Aragon Middle School won the seventh grade boys race, Smith Middle School won the seventh grade girls race and Goodson Middle School won both the eighth grade boys and girls races.
The following individuals, listed with their times in the 2-mile race, made up the total score for the winning teams:
Aragon MS seventh grade boys

Jacob Staffel, first place, 12:05.12; Joel Scarbrough, second place, 12:05.85; Sam Rhodes, 13th place, 13:06.43; Tanvir Bhogal, 14th place, 13:08.35; and Robert Fanning, 18th place, 13:13.14.
Smith MS seventh grade girls

Tori Edge, fourth place, 14:15; Vendela Cronin, sixth place, 14:27; Monica Stevenson, 13th place, 14:56; Audriana Cortez, 16th place, 15:01; and Jennifer Dizon, 23rd place, 15:24.
Goodson MS eighth grade boys

James Taylor, second place, 11.55; Eric Schipperin, 14th place, 12.26; David Johansson, 15th place, 12.26; Brendon Rhodes, 17th place, 12.42; and Raymond Berones, 18th place, 12.43.
