Volleyball teams advance in playoffs

November 4, 2009 — Two CFISD volleyball teams won their Region II-5A bi-district playoff matches on Tuesday and will advance to area round games on Thursday and Friday.

Cypress Woods defeated Cedar Park in three straight games (25-23, 25-23, 25-6) on Tuesday. The Wildcats will face The Woodlands at Magnolia West High School at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Cy-Fair beat Leander in four games (20-25, 26-24, 25-16, 25-14) on Tuesday. The Bobcats move on to play The Woodlands College Park at Klein Collins High School at 7 p.m. on Friday.

Cypress Falls fell to Georgetown and finished its season as the third-place team in district. Cypress Creek was defeated by Westwood and finishes the season as the fourth-place team in 15-5A.
