3 girls basketball teams advance to area playoffs

February 17, 2010—Three of the four CFISD girls’ basketball teams who qualified for the Region II-5A playoffs won their bi-district round games this week and will advance to the area playoffs on Thursday and Friday.
Cy-Fair High School defeated Round Rock Stony Point, 67-30, on Tuesday. The Bobcats will face Spring Dekaney in the area round at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Aldine ISD Campbell Center (1865 Aldine Bender Road).
Cypress Falls High School topped Round Rock, 56-51, on Tuesday. The Eagles will play The Woodlands College Park at 7 p.m. on Friday at Magnolia West High School (42202 FM 1774) in Magnolia.
Cypress Creek High School beat Cedar Park, 62-58, on Tuesday. The Cougars will match up with Klein Collins at 6 p.m. on Friday at Cypress Ranch High School (10700 Fry Road).
The Cypress Woods High School girls’ basketball team played a hard-fought bi-district game against District 16-5A champion Georgetown before falling, 56-51, in overtime. The Wildcats finish their season as bi-district finalists and the fourth-place team in District 15-5A.
