Coaches select all-district softball team
May 5, 2010 — District softball coaches released the All-District 15-5A Softball Team this week, following the close of CFISD teams’ seasons.
Five players and one coach received superlative awards. Cypress Woods senior Katie Franks and Cypress Creek senior Brandi Virgil were named Co-Most Valuable Players; Cypress Woods coach Clif Bond was named Coach of the Year; Cypress Ranch sophomore Lauren Montgomery was named Newcomer of the Year; Cy-Fair freshman Jordan Rains was named Designated Player of the Year; and Cypress Falls sophomore Samantha Habelow was named Utility Player of the Year.
In addition, 19 players were named First Team All-District, 20 players were named Second Team All-District and 21 players were named Honorable Mention All-District:
