Club Rewind affords conveniences for parents

July 29, 2010 — Parents who enroll their children in Club Rewind, CFISD’s new before- and after-school program, will benefit from the conveniences that come with the program.
Parents who commute to work may pick up their children as late as 6:30 p.m. knowing homework will have been completed on most days.
“Homework time is available each day and it is the goal to have each child leave with their homework complete and correct,” said Club Rewind director Kristina Perez. “Notes are sent home weekly to provide parents with feedback on their child’s use of homework time.”
Another benefit is that discounts are available for siblings, children of CFISD employees and children who qualify for either free or reduced meals.
In addition to the regular Club Rewind program, summer camps and day camps will be offered to accommodate working parents on days that school is not in session. Parents only have to sign up for days needed during the school year and weeks needed in the summer.
While Club Rewind registration is available year-round, parents are strongly encouraged to enroll their children by Monday, Aug. 2 in order to begin the program on the first day of school—Monday, Aug. 23. Enrollment is limited to 200 students per campus.
“Programs are set with a limit in order to maintain the high quality of programming,” Perez said.
