VIPS Fall Conference set for Oct. 19

October 12, 2010 — The CFISD Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) 20th Annual Fall Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 19 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road).

Registration forms are now available in CFISD schools and in the Partners in Education department office at the Berry Center. The $10 registration fee will cover breakfast, lunch and all workshop materials.

Topics of the conference will include:

• how to create a successful school carnival;

• branding your program;

• Lone Star College Library’s free services for secondary students;

• publicity tips from Cy-Fair Magazine;

• Grandparent’s Day Program;

• financial aspects of PTOs and booster clubs;

• teen dilemmas and decisions;

• prickly people and thorny problems;

• effective school partnerships;

• developing a multicultural program;

• involving families of all cultures in our schools; and

• the 3 Ps of feeding your family.
