Area E Marching Contest set for Oct. 23 at Berry Center

October 18, 2010 — Cypress-Fairbanks ISD will host the UIL Area E Marching Band Contest on Saturday, Oct. 23 at the Berry Center.

The competition will begin at approximately 9 a.m. Admission is $5 per person. The CFISD Super Senior Card will be honored.

Bands from Area E will compete to be selected to the UIL State Marching Contest, including groups from Cypress-Fairbanks, Katy, Fort Bend, Alief and Houston school districts. This contest is held every other year for Class 5A groups. 

CFISD will have nine schools represented at the Area E Marching Contest this year: Cy-Fair, Cypress Creek, Cypress Falls, Cypress Springs, Cypress Lakes, Cypress Ranch, Cypress Woods, Jersey Village and Langham Creek.

The contest follows a preliminary and finals format. The $5 admission charge covers both of these events.
