Three marching bands advance to state

October 25, 2010 — The Langham Creek, Cypress Falls and Cypress Woods high school marching bands will advance to the UIL State Marching Contest on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at the Alamodome in San Antonio after outstanding performances at the UIL Class 5A Area E Marching Contest on Saturday at the Berry Center.
Twenty-two bands from Cypress-Fairbanks, Fort Bend, Alief and Houston school districts performed at the competition. CFISD marching bands that advanced to the finals on Saturday were Langham Creek, Cypress Falls, Cy-Fair, Cypress Creek, Jersey Village and Cypress Woods.
Fort Bend Clements is the fourth representative from Area E that will join the three CFISD marching bands at state. Facing off against the 36 top programs in the state, Langham Creek is scheduled to perform at 11 a.m., Cypress Woods is scheduled to perform at 2 p.m. and Cypress Falls is scheduled to perform at 3:45 p.m. on Nov. 2.
