Cy Creek literary magazine receives Superior rating

January 28, 2011 — The Cypress Creek High School literary magazine, Graffiti, received a Superior rating in the 2010 National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines (PRESLM).
PRESLM recognizes students, teachers and schools for producing excellent literary magazines. The program’s mission is to encourage all schools to develop literary magazines, seeking excellence in writing and school-wide participation in production.
Graffiti includes art, photography, poetry and prose from freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors and interested teachers. It was compiled by the Creative Writing class led by student editor Aylia Naqvi (2010 graduate) and faculty adviser Leslie Laird.
“The 2010 Graffiti is a unique compilation of the talented Cy Creek students' work,” Laird said. “I am so proud of the Graffiti staff's dedication and vision. It is truly a beautiful magazine.”
