Cook MS band places fifth among TMEA Honor Bands

August 15, 2011—The Cook Middle School band, under the direction of Michael Dick, Aaron Buntin and Mario Prado, has been selected as the fifth-place band in the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Honor Band competition.
The competition pits hundreds of groups from across the state against one another, who then submit recordings to be judged at the region, area and state levels. The top seven bands were recognized at the Texas Bandmasters Association Annual Convention on July 24.
“I am extremely proud of our 2010-2011 symphonic band students,” Dick said. “They worked extremely hard and their performance is very deserving of this honor. We are excited to bring this recognition to Cook Middle School and the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District.”
The band will also be recognized at the TMEA 2012 Convention and Clinic.
