Cy Ranch, Cy-Fair win accolades for athletics

August 23, 2011— The CFISD Athletics Department awarded Cypress Ranch and Cy-Fair high schools with a pair of honors for their athletic accomplishments in the 2010-2011 school year.

Cypress Ranch won the 2010-2011 Athletic Academic Award, recognizing the high school with the highest overall grade-point average among its athletes.

“We are extremely excited about winning this award. We are proud of our athletes, but we would be remiss if we did not also give praise to the faculty and staff at Cypress Ranch,” said Gene Johnson, Cypress Ranch athletics coordinator. “This is an honor for our campus and it came about through the efforts of many.”

Cy-Fair won the 2010-2011 Victory Cup Award, recognizing the high school with the highest overall winning percentage of its teams and granting points for district championships and playoff appearances.

“We’re happy to get the Victory Cup back in our hands,” said Cy-Fair athletics coordinator Ed Pustejovsky. “It’s a credit to all of our coaches, staff and athletes, who do a tremendous job of bringing excellence to Bobcat sports.”
