Schools honored with HealthierUS School Challenge bronze awards

Jan. 18, 2012—Thirteen CFISD elementary schools are among an elite group of schools to receive the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) HealthierUS School Challenge Bronze Award, recognizing excellence in nutrition and physical activity.
The following schools received the four-year distinction that will not expire until July 2015:

To qualify for the Bronze Award, schools must meet a set of specific nutritional criteria outlined by the USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service Department. The award recognizes food service programs for reinforcing the three Es for healthy living—education, exercise and eating right.
