Aragon student qualifies for state geography bee

March 28, 2012—Aragon Middle School eighth-grade student John Tadros qualified for the state level of the National Geographic Bee, sponsored by Google and Plum Creek.
Tadros participated in a preliminary competition at Aragon and was one of the top 10 students out of 24 to advance to the final competition. After winning the final school-level competition, he was required to take the written and multiple-choice qualifying test. As many as 100 of the highest-scoring students in a state or territory advanced to the state level.
“We congratulate John on such an amazing accomplishment,” said Nancy Tryon, Aragon social studies campus content instructional specialist. “He has worked hard and has been dedicated to preparing for the state-level competition, and we wish him the best of luck.”
The state bee will be held on Friday, March 30 at the Pat May Center in Bedford, Texas.
