Baseball teams enter postseason

May 1, 2012—CFISD baseball teams wrapped up District 17-5A competition this weekend, while four of the 10 teams qualified for the playoffs.
Langham Creek and Cypress Woods high schools were the co-champions, while Cypress Ranch High School finished third and Cypress Creek High School finished fourth.
The four teams will compete in the Region III-5A bi-district playoff round this week. Tickets for each of the following series will be sold for $4 at the gate:

Langham Creek will meet Aldine Nimitz in a one-game series at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Langham Creek High School (17610 FM 529);

Cypress Woods will face Aldine Eisenhower in a one-game series at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at Cypress Woods High School (13550 Woods Spillane Blvd.);

Cypress Ranch will play Alief Hastings in a best-of-three series. Game one is 7 p.m. Thursday at Cypress Ranch High School (10700 Fry Road), game two is 7 p.m. Friday at Hastings High School (4410 Cook Road) and game three, if necessary, will be played at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Cypress Ranch; and

Cypress Creek will meet Aldine MacArthur in a best-of-three series. Game one is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at Cypress Creek High School (9815 Grant Road), game two is set for 7 p.m. Friday at MacArthur High School (4400 Aldine Mail Route) and game three, if necessary, will be played at 7 p.m. Saturday at Cypress Creek.
