May 23, 2012—CFISD Chief of Police Alan Bragg announced the district’s first command staff for the new district police department on Wednesday.
Bragg, who was hired by the district in December, is overseeing the district’s transition plan from Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office deputies—whose contracts with the district will expire on Dec. 31—to a full-fledged department with CFISD police officers.
The following law enforcement officers accepted positions with CFISD’s inaugural staff:
-
Assistant Chief – Mike Baker, chief of police for Meadows Place Police Department;
-
Captain – Matthew Williams, chief of police for Victoria College Police Department;
-
Lieutenant – Michael Benford, lieutenant for Houston ISD Police Department;
-
Sergeants – Jimmy Banks, lieutenant for Spring ISD Police Department; Joseph Sanders, sergeant for Hedwig Village Police Department; and Mike Schultz, sergeant for Spring ISD Police Department.
“Including my years of service, our first command staff represents more than 170 years of law enforcement experience, and it will be used to build a model police department in the third-largest school district in Texas,” Bragg said.
