CFISD names new principal for Hopper MS

May 31, 2012—Wendi Witthaus, the director for the Alternative Learning Center West, was named the new principal at Hopper Middle School on Thursday. Witthaus replaces Dr. Robert Borneman, who announced his retirement this month, effective June 28.
Witthaus has 18 years of experience in education, all in CFISD. She taught for six years at Cook Middle School before serving one year as a mid-management intern and one-half year as an academic achievement specialist in special programs. She then accepted an assistant principal position at the Alternative Learning Center, a position she held for 7 1/2 years. Witthaus was promoted to director of the Alternative Learning Center West in February 2009.
Witthaus earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas A&M University and her Master of Education from Prairie View A&M University. She is certified in Elementary Reading (1-6), Elementary English (1-6), Elementary Mathematics (1-6), Elementary Self-Contained (1-8), Elementary Social Studies Composite (1-8) and as Principal (EC-12).
“I am extremely honored to be selected as the principal of Hopper Middle School. I look forward to working with the highly talented staff and joining their efforts to foster success for Hopper students,” Witthaus said. “I am excited to begin establishing partnerships with the staff, students and community of Hopper Middle School, where it’s all about the TEAM.”
