Baseball players named to THSBCA all-state teams

June 25, 2012—Five CFISD baseball players have been named to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association (THSBCA) Class 5A All-State team and five were named to the Academic All-State team.

Cypress Ranch High School senior second baseman Leon Byrd was named to the all-state first team, while Langham Creek High School senior pitcher Hayden Jones, Cypress Ranch senior Grant Slaughter and Langham Creek senior catcher Brandon Montalvo were named to the all-state second team. Jersey Village High School senior outfielder Kyle Survance was named to the all-state third team.

Jersey Village’s Joey Sliepka joined Langham Creek players Ryan Burns, John Erck, Cameron McCartney and Ryan Rand as CFISD’s representatives on the academic all-state team.
