Bus Buddies seeks volunteers for 6th annual program

July 19, 2012—The CFISD transportation and Partners in Education (PIE) departments will collaborate with the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce for the sixth annual Bus Buddies program, scheduled for the first three days of the 2012-2013 school year.

Volunteers in the community can sign up to become Bus Buddies, riding CFISD school buses on Aug. 27-29 from 2:45 to 4:45 p.m. to put new riders at ease and ensure the students are delivered to their proper drop-off points.

Interested volunteers can register to be a Bus Buddy through the PIE web page at http://www.cfisd.net/dept2/pie/busbuddies.htm or by faxing a registration form to 281-894-3959.

The PIE department will offer three training sessions at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road) for prospective volunteers:

• Aug. 20, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.;

• Aug. 21, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; and

• Aug. 22, 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.
