CFISD names new principal for Hamilton Middle School
August 10, 2012—Kim Sempe, the associate principal at Cypress Woods High School, was named the new principal at Hamilton Middle School on Friday. Sempe replaces Ify Ogwumike, who was promoted to assistant superintendent for student services last week.
Sempe has 23 years of experience in public education—all in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. She began her teaching career in 1989 as a business teacher at Langham Creek High School. She taught three years at Langham Creek prior to serving as the business department chair and teacher at Cypress Falls High School for nine years. She was promoted to assistant principal at Cypress Falls in 2001 and served five years in that capacity before accepting her current associate principal role at Cypress Woods in 2006.
Sempe received her Bachelor of Science in Technology and vocational office education certification from the University of Houston. She received a Master of Education in the school administration program from Sam Houston State University.
“I am both honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve as the new principal of Hamilton Middle School,” Sempe said. “I look forward to joining the Tiger family of staff, students and parents and continuing the strong level of excellence and tradition. Hamilton Middle is known for great pride and dedication from all stakeholders. It is my privilege to join and support the Tigers through continued growth and achievement.”
