DISTRICT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (DEC)

The UIL District Executive Committee is formed to rule on protests and reports of UIL violations concerning eligibility and other violations of the UIL Constitution and Contest rules which occur within each UIL competitive district. The voting members of the UIL DEC committees in which CFISD schools participate are the principals of each of our member high schools.
With the exception of wrestling, CFISD high schools are split between competitive districts.
For basketball, baseball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis/team tennis, track & field, and volleyball, our 12 CFISD high schools are split between the 17-6A and 16-6A competitive districts.
The principals of the following high schools comprise the 17-6A DEC Committee: Cy Creek, Cy-Fair, Cy Ridge, Jersey Village, Memorial, Northbrook, Spring Woods and Stratford.
Paige Hershey, Executive Director of Athletics for Spring Branch I.S.D. is the District Executive Chair for the 17-6A district.

The principals of the following high schools comprise the 16-6A DEC Committee: Bridgeland, Cy Falls, Cy Lakes, Cy Park, Cypress Ranch, Cy Springs, Cy Woods and Langham Creek.
For swimming & diving, our 12 CFISD high schools are split between the 17-6A Swimming & Diving and 18-6A Swimming & Diving competitive districts.
The principals of the following high schools comprise the 17-6A Swimming & Diving DEC Committee: Cy-Fair, Cy Creek, Cy Ridge, Cy Woods, Houston Memorial, Houston Northbrook, Houston Spring Woods and Houston Statford.
The principals of the following high schools comprise the 18-6A Swimming & Diving DEC Committee: Bridgeland, Cy Falls, Cy Lakes, Cy Park, Cypress Ranch, Cy Springs, Jersey Village, and Langham Creek.
For wrestling, all 12 CFISD high schools participate in the 10-6A Wrestling competitive district, and our 12 high school principals make up the 10-6A Wrestling DEC Committee.
Ray Zepeda, Director of Athletics for CFISD, is the District Executive Chair for the 16-6A, 17-6A Swimming & Diving, 18-6A Swimming & Diving, 16-A Water Polo, 17-6A Water Polo, and 10-6A Wrestling districts.
Jenny Orwin is the UIL Administrative Assistant for all competitive districts for which Mr. Zepeda is responsible.
Meetings of the District Executive Committees are open to the public except for any closed (executive) session held in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act. Persons interested in a District Executive Committee hearing and desiring communication with the District Executive Committee or any special accommodations should contact the appropriate Executive Committee Chair during regular business hours at least two working days prior to the meeting.
