BECOME A TEMPORARY HIRE

  • Thank you for your interest in applying for a temporary position with Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. As you begin the process of applying, please be sure to follow the steps below.

NOTICE REGARDING UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS

  • Under normal circumstances, temporary workers are not eligible for unemployment benefits, however, given the current circumstances, you are certainly free to apply. The Texas Workforce Commission will send us a form to verify your status. We will complete it with the appropriate information and then a decision regarding your claim will be made by an agent from the Texas Workforce Commission.

NOTICE TO TRS RETIREES

  • Depending on your individual date of retirement, you may have restrictions on the number of hours allowed to work each month without loss of annuity and incurring payroll and/or TRS Care surcharges. Therefore, we are advising that all retirees contact TRS to discuss their individual restrictions, if any, in order to make good decisions prior to accepting any position with CFISD. It is ultimately the responsibility of each retiree to be aware of his/her status to prevent any loss of funds.

STEP ONE - APPLY

  • Apply here to be considered for one of the following supplemental positions.

    Part-Time Worker: A part-time worker is an employee who works less than ½ the workload of a full-time position.
    Temporary Worker: A temporary worker is an employee who works less than 4 ½ months in a school year.
    Long-Term Temporary Worker: A long-term temporary worker is an employee that works ½ time or more of the standard workload of the position. This position is required to pay into the Texas Retirement System (TRS) at the current contribution rate of 7.7%.

STEP TWO - DEPARTMENT CONTACT

  • Applications are reviewed when a temporary assignment becomes available. The hiring department may contact you via email or telephone regarding your application. At that time, further instructions will be provided. To check the status of your application, please log in to your application account.

STEP THREE – RECOMMENDATION

  • If the department extends a recommendation to hire you as a temporary worker, part-time worker or long-term temporary worker, the Human Resources Department will reach-out to you to complete the following next steps:

    • Fingerprinting (excluding CFISD Students)

STEP FOUR – ONBOARDING

    • Complete new-hire paperwork via the district Online Onboarding System
    • Complete the 1-9 Process
      • Employees must complete section 1 of the I-9 at any time between acceptance of a job offer and the first day of work.
      • Employees who are rehired must complete a new I-9 form if they’re no longer employed by the district.

    IMPORTANT:
    Individuals should NOT begin working until they receive employment confirmation from Human Resources.
