HOW WE GOT OUR NAME

Hairgrove Elementary was named after Jewel Roper Hairgrove, who began her public education career in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD in 1966. She served as a counselor, dean of students, grade-level principal, and director of guidance and counseling. Notable awards include Texas Outstanding Counselor and Texas Outstanding Supervisor in the Texas Association of Counseling and Development. The staff and students of Hairgrove Elementary loved her. Mrs. Hairgrove passed away on April 24, 2003.
