WELCOME HOOVER HEROES!

  • Jan. 18, 2017—Michelle Rice, the principal at Copeland Elementary School, was named the incoming principal for Hoover Elementary School on Jan. 18. She will officially assume the new role on March 20.

    Opening in the 2017-2018 school year, Janet Brenner Hoover Elementary School will serve pre-K through second-grade students and be located across from Jowell Elementary School at 6425 Greenhouse Road.

    Rice has 16 years of service in public education, including the last seven years in CFISD. Her career launched in Magnolia ISD, with three years as an elementary teacher followed by two years as a gifted and talented teacher/coordinator. She was promoted to assistant principal in Magnolia ISD, serving four years before arriving in CFISD as an assistant principal at Warner Elementary School. Rice served one year at Warner before taking over her current position at Copeland.

    Rice earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Southwestern Assemblies of God University and her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University. She is a graduate of the Rice Educational Entrepreneurship Program (REEP) and a "Texas Principals' Visioning Institute" participant.

    “It is an honor to be chosen as the new principal of Hoover Elementary School,” Rice said. “This is a new endeavor for our district and the possibilities are extremely exciting! I look forward to building relationships with the students, staff and families as we work together to make magic happen at Hoover.”
