Elementary School No. 54 is named after Sadie Woodard, who retired from CFISD in 2008 after 39 years with the district. Woodard was a dedicated educator with a passion for students and their success, both before and after graduation.

While with CFISD, she was a teacher for five years at Cy-Fair and Jersey Village high schools, counselor for 10 years and assistant principal for three years at Jersey Village, director of guidance and counseling for 14 years, senior director of guidance and counseling for two years and assistant superintendent of guidance and counseling and special programs for five years. Prior to coming to CFISD, Woodard worked two years as a teacher in Victoria ISD.

Sadie Woodard Elementary School is located in Alder Trails located at Barker Cypress Road and Cypress North Houston. Designed by PBK.

“It’s a pleasure to be honored in this manner as a school namesake,” Woodard said. “Cy-Fair is a wonderful district because it has high goals and works hard to reach them. At Woodard Elementary, we are going to have those same high goals, and we are going to reach those goals.”
