The student body, teachers and community reflected my values of excellence, accountability, and diversity.

Considering your skills and talents, what positive contribution would you make as a member of the Board of Trustees?

Education equals success. Every student, every voice, every day. As a parent of two sons who are in the CFISD school system I am personally vested in Cy-Fair. My skillset is education and business; however, my focus is and always will be all students, administration, staff and CFISD community. Collectively we all succeed.

What are the responsibilities of the Board of Trustees?

      • Adopt goals and priorities and monitor success
      • Adopt policies and review effectiveness
      • Hiring and evaluating the Superintendent
      • Adopt a budget and set a tax rate
      • Communicate with community

What role do positive trustee relations on the Board play in affecting student success?

A positive trustee relations portrays a district of understanding, collaboration and healthy dialogue. Board trustees behaviors exhibit the leadership of working toward districts goals and values.

Student success is the ultimate goal regardless of difference of opinion, therefore great trustees' accept and support the decision of the board.

What critical challenges face the district, and what are possible solutions to address those issues?

      • COVID variants- School administrators and decision makers should improve school ventilation by bringing in as much outdoor air as the heating, ventilation, and air
conditioning (HVAC) system will safely allow and research costs of upgrading filtration.
      • Reduction in state funding- Use volunteers, grants, and business partnerships to overcome our lack of funds.
