Why did you choose to live in CFISD?

When we moved to the Houston area we wanted the very best schools for our children and Cy-Fair was one of the best in the area. Because the school district was so good the housing market was tight and it took some time to find the right neighborhood. We are very blessed to find the right area and home for our family. We quickly fell in love with the Cypress area and have some wonderful neighbors and lifelong friends.

We have been to many sporting events including playoff games that were out of town to cheer on CFISD sports. Our family loves football and all the excitement revolves around it at the games. We also love to attend the local choir concerts and see the drams plays put on by the local schools.

Considering your skills and talents, what positive contribution would you make as a member of the Board of Trustees?

For over 20 years I have been in the public sector working in the software industry working in various management roles consulting for large multi-billion dollar companies.  This experience allowed me to work with some of the great industry leaders from around the world. In addition, my domain knowledge of cybersecurity and background will be a great asset to CyFair ISD.

What are the responsibilities of the Board of Trustees?

The role of the trustee is to be an advocate for the student and the parent/taxpayer on the board and provide sage advice to as how to school system should run and budget for each year. It also hires, manages, and fires the superintendent. The superintendent and the administration are involved in the day-to-day operation while the school board sets the budget, direction, and policy.

What role do positive trustee relations on the Board play in affecting student success?

The trustee's set the overall direction of the school district and the policies for all students. The impact they make is paramount to the future of each pupil in the district. It is important we as trustees work together and provide the very best experience with first-class education for all students.

What critical challenges face the district, and what are possible solutions to address those issues?

One of the biggest changes facing our district is our academic programs. We should take a hard look at improving the curriculum in the district and be more transparent with parents in the process. We can make huge strides in our academics and scores if we simply empowered teachers with some creative liberty in the classroom with lesson plans and material used.
