Board approves Dr. Mark Henry as namesake for new administration building
Nov. 9, 2021—The CFISD Board of Trustees approved the namesake for the new administration building as Dr. Mark Henry, superintendent of schools, during its regularly scheduled meeting on Nov. 8.

New CFISD propane buses provide health, costs benefits
May 6, 2021—In helping provide a healthier and cleaner product to CFISD students and the community, the transportation department has acquired nearly 270 propane buses to replace their diesel counterparts and bring the total fleet to nearly one-third that run on the cleaner fuel.

CFISD, Dunham Pointe break ground on new development
March 25, 2021—Representatives from CFISD and the Dunham Pointe master-planned community took part in a groundbreaking ceremony on Feb. 24 for the new 1,300-acre neighborhood located south of Hwy. 290 at Mason Road.

Former Associate Superintendent recognized at Rowe MS Dedication
Nov. 10, 2020—The CFISD community gathered on Nov. 8 to celebrate the namesake of the district’s 19th middle school at a dedication ceremony for Harold Rowe Middle School.

Aug. 12, 2019—The CFISD Board of Trustees approved the namesake for Middle School No. 19, Harold R. Rowe Middle School, during its regularly scheduled meeting on Aug. 12.

Board calls bond election May 4
Feb. 11, 2019—The CFISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved calling a bond election for May 4, 2019, during its regularly scheduled meeting on Feb. 11. The $1,762,000,000 bond package, as recommended by a community long-range planning committee, is anticipated to meet several needs for CFISD through the year 2025.

Lightspeed audio technology helping enhance learning environment
May 3, 2018—The $1.2 billion Bond package passed in 2014 saw upgrades in all corners of CFISD. That includes inside every classroom, as the Bond-funded Lightspeed sound enhancement technology will be in every class across the district’s 91 campuses by the end of 2018.

Major renovations transform Watkins MS on its 35th anniversary
May 24, 2018—Opening as CFISD’s fifth middle school in 1983, Watkins Middle School was among the campuses to open the 2017-2018 school year with new upgrades, features and sense of pride among its students, staff and community.

Matzke ES brings traditions and latest technology to brand new campus
May 10, 2018— The replacement campus of Matzke Elementary School, opened in August 2017 on Mills Road, and was funded by the 2014 Bond package. The $26.744 million project was designed by PBK and built by Purcell Construction, Inc., and sits near Cypress Creek High School.
