LEAD Safely 2020-2021

  • The initial LEAD Safely Plan was developed by the Reopening CFISD Committee (later named LEAD Safely Committee) made up of department representatives, campus principals, teachers, parents and students. Health and safety protocols were periodically revised according to updates in TEA’s Public Health Guidance and changes in CDC’s guidelines and input from local medical experts.

  • The plan was revised for the 2021-2022 school year according to updates in TEA’s Public Health Guidance and changes in CDC’s guidelines with numerous opportunities for stakeholders to provide input and feedback, including but not limited to:

      • Reminders for staff and students regarding LEAD Safely Plan, including new isolation protocol based on 12/27/21 guidance from CDC.

    Public Comment – each of the following board meetings contained agenda items related to the LEAD Safely plan and/or ESSER funding, whereby registered patrons had the opportunity to speak.

    • June 21, 2021
      • The administration will present an oral report on the budget for the 2021-2022 school year and the ESSER II and III spending plans.
      • The Board will hold a Public Hearing on the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) for internet filtering and internet safety at 6:00 p.m., Monday, June 21, 2021.
      • The board will consider approving the budget amendments for the period of April 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021.
    • August 5, 2021
      • The administration will discuss the work of the Superintendent’s Student Leadership Advisory Committee (SSLAC) for the 2021-2022 school year.
      • The Board will consider approving the Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Texas Health Science Center and Cypress-Fairbanks ISD to provide pediatric and adolescent behavior health services via telehealth.
      • The Board will consider awarding bids and contracts and/or authorizing purchase orders as recommended in the posted agenda item.

    • September 9, 2021
      • The administration will provide a report on the 2021 instructional summer programs.
      • The Board will consider authorizing the Superintendent to add additional local leave (sick) days to Board Policy DEC (LOCAL) for employees for COVID-19 isolation for the 2021-2022 school year.
    • October 11, 2021
      • The administration will provide an update on the general operating budget for the 2020-2021 school year.
    • November 4, 2021
      • The Board will consider approving the District’s 2021 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and Single Audit Report and accept the auditors’ report on the district’s general-purpose financial statements and single audit for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2021.

      • The administration will provide a report on the opportunity gap created as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

      • The Board will consider approving the Campus Improvement Plans for the 2021-2022 school year.
    • January 10, 2022
      • The Board will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, January 13, 2022, to discuss the 2020-2021 Texas Academic Performance Report.
      • The Board will consider approving the Calendar Committee’s recommendation for the 2022-2023 instructional calendar.
    • February 10, 2022
      • The administration will provide an oral report on the Safety and Security Action plan.
      • The administration will provide an oral report on the 2021-2022 Board Monitoring System.
      • The Board will consider approving the budget amendments for the period of October 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021.
      • The Board will consider approving the Memorandum of Understanding for Telehealth Services Referrals between Rise Recovery and Cypress-Fairbanks ISD.
